Why am I not eligible for monthly payment for device?

When I try to buy any device online, monthly payment option for device is not available for me.

I also talked to the credit team, they said I'm eligible.

And when I ordered the device at the shop and I could choose monthly payment option.

What is wrong with it?

Did anyone get the answer for this? I am also experiencing the same issue where online and app doesnt seem showing the device payment option and just buy outright but the store  or verizon support seems to see on their end.

Some guesses:

-Prepaid customers might not be eligible because they're paying for service as they go already (per month), not on a contract

-"Cash only" accounts are restricted

-The system needs some kind of authentication/identity verification for you to purchase online or through the phone app and there's something blocking it (VPN, private browsing mode, something else)

Thanks for quick response and sharing the thoughts.

- i am a postpaid customer with 5 lines and also have device financing limit of $1750 left

- at store or through tele sales option we are seeing the device payment option but not on my side (online or app)

- not sure what caused this issue where i am not seeing the device payment option. Even verizon folks dont know about it on how to fix it. Thats weird.

If you were calling Verizon, probably got a call center overseas and the people you spoke with may not really have that much access to anything Verizon, so couldn't answer your question.  You said Verizon store employees are able to see the monthly payment option on their end however, which means it is not some problem with your account.  I suspect there is something in your phone and computer not allowing some kind of cookies or scripts to run which is preventing the payment plan thing to show up for you.

If you have a VPN, turn it off and see if that helps.  The other thing to check is to make sure your browser is set to accept cookies.  If you have enhanced security settings enabled, set them to "normal" instead and do not use private browsing mode.  As a total aside, I'm a gamer elsewhere and have seen users at one gaming site I frequent saying Chrome is very fussy about not accepting downloads from one gaming site, but Firefox and Edge are OK, so you could also try using a different browser.

Good morning! We know the importance of managing your service, especially if you are looking to upgrade. Verizon is here to help.

Please elaborate, what exactly occurs when you attempt to set up a Device Payment Agreement (error message, missing data, etc.)? Were you able to take advantage of a Device Payment plan before?

I’ve had this problem too. I had the option before (two weeks ago) but not now. I did pay a bill late, but how long does that affect the process?

In my situation, ANY of the iPhone 15 models do not allow me to upgrade to that device,  without also purchasing an unlimited ultimate plan and purchasing a tablet or watch. I am an auto-pay customer with a standard unlimited plan.  Online browsing, and here in this forum, have made this issue pretty clear.  VZW should clarify if this is a web site issue or a policy.

We definitely want to make sure all your concerns are clarified. Please tell us, are you experiencing this on the app or website? Are you choosing the upgrade or add a line options? ~Geo

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Jennilynn3185. While there are multiple factors that can impact device payment eligibility, we want to understand your experience further. Is your account alerting you that you are not eligible for device payment? Is this taking place on the app or online browser?

I have the same problem.  Been with Verizon 10+ years with no credit and bad credit.  Always made payments and was one of the reasons I chose Verizon as a phone plan.  If I can't make payments for phones here I'm sure ATT will help with my 5 lines.

Hello, Besheemer. Help is here as there are many reasons there could be a limit on the account for the Device Payment option. Each customer is assigned and Account Level and Line Level Credit Class depending on what the customer qualifies for during the credit scoring process. With that said, we can check the account to provide more concrete answers as we would never want to see you leave us. I have sent you a Private Message for further assistance.

Hey there, Vijay1434a, thanks for reaching out with an update. As far as your online account, are you signed in as an Account Manager or the Account Owner? Have you been able to purchase a device online with device payment in the past?
