Why can't I have a phone conversation on my new iPhone 5s without being on speaker phone?

Hello Insccw!


Sorry you're having a problem with the speakerphone. The speakerphone is only available while on a call. Once the call ends, the speakerphone is disabled. While you're on a call, tap SPEAKER to turn on or off. Please turn your phone off and on again to refresh it. Go to Settings>General>Software updates to ensure you have the latest software. Hope that helps.
