Caller ID was added to my phone had collar ID removed and still every thing that comes across my phone still says unknown name any suggestions

Unless the optional service is ordered, the only time you will see a name displayed is if the received telephone number matches an entry in your contact list.
One more question....are you receiving the telephone numbers of your incoming callers? If you are, then everything is fine.
If you are not receiving any of the incoming telephone numbers, then a call to Verizon Wireless customer service is in order.

For clarification...you ordered the optional Caller ID service from Verizon Wireless that passes the name of the caller in addition to the calling party number and you are still seeing the number only after VZW has confirmed that the service is added to your telephone number?

No they added caller ID to my phone before I was able to get the phone number now all that comes across my phone is unknown name I asked that it be removed and still getting just unknown name after resetting my phone

Im having this same issue. When I got my phone, it was fine. It would show up as the number calling even if I didn't have them saved in my contacts. Now, after the free trial of Verizon caller id that I never really even wanted, my phone only says unknown caller if I do not have them saved. This is the most ridiculous thing ever. Do I have to pay just to see a number? Because if that's the case I'll switch to a different company. How can I have it one day and then it be taken away after a free trial? That makes no sense... If anyone finds a solution to this please let me know.

You should see the number. What you won't see is the name, unless, you manually add them to your contact list, or, subscribe to the program for 24/7 name display

I agree that your phone should at least show the incoming numbers. When was the last time those came through on calls?

Neither, i had call filter but I uninstalled in the process of trying to fix this. For how long this has been going on... It's a new phone so new problem. I think I had the call filter plus as a free trial for 30 days

Talldend48, it sounds like your line is still seeing the subscription to Call Filter. Please sign in to your My Verizon, select account, choose Add ons and review Call Filter. If you no longer wish to subscribe please cancel this subscription by selecting Manage. After removed please let us know if there is any change.

Nailed it! Thanks. I had tried disabling the app. That does not work. If anyone else is having the problem it is several confirmation pages before it let's you remove call filter so make sure you look around before leaving the page.

Have had the same problem since the beginning of November, 2019 and is still ongoing. My IPhone 6 worked just fine up until then. Reported to Verizon and after three weeks they say, it's a device problem and not theirs. Interesting that other people are having the same issue. All my calls that are not in contact list say unknown name instead of the phone number calling me, yet the locale and state they are from is shown. If I go to "recents" it says unknown name and shows the number, so why doesn't the number show when the call is coming in . All my settings are correct, verified by a verizon rep in store. This is a business number and it's becoming more and more frustrating. Hoping someone may have some insight into this problem.

Same issue here!!! Very annoying as sometimes I know the number even though it is not saved in my contacts. once the unknown number goes away if I go to call details the number will show up and I realized that I missed the call. Please advise on how to remove this so that the numbers will actually show
