    Jtaylor8683, you would be correct in that Apple Music is consuming your data. You say that you are streaming 1 hour each way to work for a total of 2 hours each day. At that rate Apple Music could use as much as 12 GB of data per month.

  With Apple Music you could download the music with Wi-Fi. Then play it without being connected to the internet, which would greatly reduce the data usage.

As much as I would like to agree, I've been streaming the same way since August, with a 6 gig plan, and NEVER had any issues. So why did I all of a sudden begin to go over my 6 gigs??

While YOU may have changed nothing, how many iOS updates have there been since last August where APPLE may have changed something to your settings.

Each iOS update I install on my iPhone(s) I go into the settings and there has ALWAYS been at least one setting which had been changed. Usually more than one setting.

No, I am not saying that. I am saying have you checked all of your settings to make SURE you are not using cellular when on wifi(wifi assist for example should be turned off) OR that your streaming settings have changed?

Oh, yeah. I'm a tech nerd and I stay up to date on updates and changes so I don't think anything slipped by me. I have cellular off for basically everything, even itunes and app store (seems extreme but I am at a loss). So, when "Communication and Device Services" leads the list on my used data, I have no idea what to do. This was always at the bottom of my list, using - maybe - 2% a month.

Yup. That is one thing I check often...due to all of the horror stories I read on Apple sites.
