Hmm. That is strange, kcantl. On more current Nationwide or More Everything plans, extended network will not charge roaming and is just an indication you're picking up an extended signal.  You can check your calling plan details and coverage by logging into My Verizon http://bit.ly/xB4iTc if you're not sure. Are all the other phones in your house iPhone 5s devices as well? Do you have a Network Extender at your home?
