I have and iPhone 6 and verison service provided for use at work. The phone will drop 50% of all calls made while in the ringing process. I have rarely had a dropped call after making a connection just durring the ringing process. The dropped calls will happen with typically 3 to 5 bars of service. At times I have had to make 3 or 4 calls in a row just to make one completed call. The person I am calling will inform me that their phone would ring but when they attempt to answer the phone it would disconnect. This is extreemly frustrating and I am not sure if it is an apple issue or a verison issue. I had similar problems with iphone 4 but could solve the issue with a *228. When I try to dial *228 now it indicates that this number is not allowed. Does anyone understand what causes this problem and how to correct it?
Might be worth trying
Settings> cellular> LTE data only. Not voice and data.
After you switch the setting... I would also recommend the following
-Reset Network Settings
-Close out all apps running in the background
-Then do a Hard Re-Start (hold home and sleep/wake button in until apple logo comes back up)
I had a similar issue with my iP6+...I came to find that Advanced Calling was the culprit and it isn't tht great in my area. When I switched to LTE for data only like the previous post mentioned...my problems went away. You may want to give it a try unless you have an absolute need to be able to use voice and data at the same time.
Thanks for the ideas!
I checked and my phone is already set up to use LTE Data only.
I will try the hard start to see if that makes and improvment. I almost never shut down my phone.
Not really sure how to reset Network Settings. Is this under Settings>cellular?
Thanks for the comments. No need for voice and data. Use data 90% of the time. Found my phone already set up to use LTE for data only. It does seem strange that the only time I seem to have the dropped calls is when the phone is ringing. Is there something that changes in the phone operation (prioritization of phone) when the phone call connects?
Resetting the network settings was the changing the LTE data only above sorry it wasn't clear. Odd that it only happens when ringing, there probably is something going on to make sure the phone interrupts and handles the incoming call as a priority.
