I just upgraded to the iPhone 12 Pro and the wifi calling is enabled successfully but never actually turns on/works. The indicator never switches from "Verizon" or "No Service" to "VZW WI-FI" like it used to on my previous iPhone. Calls are routing through the cell tower and when I have "No Service" calls don't work, even though the settings says wifi calling is on. I called Verizon and had a group call with an Apple engineer and reset my phone, network settings, and had Verizon disable and re-enable the wifi calling feature on my account and no success getting it to work... Is anyone else having this issue? My parents wifi calling works on their new iPhone 12 Pro but they have T-Mobile. I'm wondering if wifi calling is only not working on the iPhone 12's on the Verizon network. I don't want to exchange the phone if the new one is going to have the same issue..

I need help too as I have tried everything listed in the forum and it is not working. My old iPhone 7 worked great - wifi calling is a must have at my house as I do not get a decent cell signal here. My new iPhone 12 Pro is running 14.3 and all the network settings have been refreshed multiple times, etc. etc. Please contact me.

Um in not sure which part of that says “it’s working” because it is still NOT working. The Verizon store said it “should” be working.
wifi calling is still NOT working.

I have the same issue. Trying to resolve for a couple of weeks. Did all the troubleshooting and 2 apple updates to the lates system. WiFi calling works very rarely and drops to No Service. I put iphone 12 pro max next to one of my other phones and for them wifi calling works flawlessly but not for the 12. Was this issue resolved for anyone here?

After several calls with Tier 2 Apple tech support, many tests, sending logs and two visits to the Verizon store (the second time, per Apple's suggestion, they swapped my SIM card to see if that was the issue. Unfortunately, the Verizon store did not have 5G cards - "they only get them with phones, so don't have any extras" - it did not help). I eventually was set up with another appointment with the Apple store. They ended up swapping my phone, on the theory it was something with the phone.
However, when we set up the phone as a new phone at the store, it would still not turn on WiFi calling. The Apple rep even did a wipe and reload of the new phone and still it did not work. He did give me a real 5G SIM which I need to take to the Verizon store to activate (I'm still using the swapped in 4G SIM).
When I got home and erased the phone, and re-set it up as mine, restoring from iCloud backup, miraculously WiFi calling started working. No idea why it would suddenly start working. I do still have to go have the 5G card swapped in, but I am leery of messing with it, as I feel it could stop working at any time.

TSOM did you ever get this working on a 5G SIM?
I am having the same problem on my iP 12 Pro Max but my partner iP11 works fine.
Verizon is very aware of this problem.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We want to make sure Wi-Fi Calling works on your device. How you gone to the extend of performing a factory reset on your device? Has this been an issue since you got your new device? - ChristianP_VZW

Am have no same issue with new iPhone 12 pro. Weak cell service results in NO SERVICE so depend on WiFi calling. However it will not work. Both Verizon service and apple service claim “there’s no problem” but obviously there is an issue with 12’s and WiFi calling.
Phone also has BAD cell reception, and requires toggling airplane mode even when moving into better coverage area to reconnect to cell service. Also am on latest update of iOS (14.2.1) and doesn’t help.

Tsom, we are here to help get to the bottom of what's going on with your iPhone 12 Pro. You mentioned you have already worked with us on your phone, what troubleshooting steps have we already tried other than ensuring the latest update? Have we already tried a Network Reset? Here is a link with setp by step instructions. https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-207110/ ScottD_VZW

I've done the network reset about a half dozen times. I've turned off and back on WiFi Calling, I've rebooted the phone. Here is the initial ticket TR-161133718-E01 and the escalated network ticket NRB000010356289. This phone is less than a week old and has the SIM card that came with it. There are no carrier updates, though with the spotty at best cell reception, I'm not sure it'd even come though if there was one. Verizon support claimed that the Wifi calling was enabled on the phone, but the Apple support rep said that can't be true, as VZW WIFI does not show on the phone. So who's right??

I had the same problem. WiFi calling does not work with the IPhone 12 Pro on the Verizon network. I got new hardware. New software. New SIM card. Every update imaginable. Even a new cable company and new modem. It still didn’t work. I had to get a network extender from Verizon. The problem doesn’t look like it has a fix. A work around is the best you can do. There’s something wrong with the compatibility of WiFi calling and the iPhone 12 Pro when using Verizon.

I'm having the exact same issue. This is really frustrating, I have a thousand dollar phone (iPhone 12 Pro) that can't make reliable phone calls because of poor cell coverage and even the wifi calling option doesn't work! Absolutely ridiculous. My iPhone SE didn't have that issue.
What also silly is how badly it works transitioning from no signal to 4G or 5G. I was standing outside in a 5G coverage area and the phone wouldn't switch over at all after leaving my house where it was connected to wifi. So frustrating.

I'm having the same issues. I have to turn on airplane to get wifi calling which last for about 20 minutes then it goes out. I also have to put my phone on airplane mode to get service. I keep getting a notification saying the phone is not activated but it is. Verizon even sent me a replacement phone and I still have the same issues.
