I just upgraded to the iPhone 12 Pro and the wifi calling is enabled successfully but never actually turns on/works. The indicator never switches from "Verizon" or "No Service" to "VZW WI-FI" like it used to on my previous iPhone. Calls are routing through the cell tower and when I have "No Service" calls don't work, even though the settings says wifi calling is on. I called Verizon and had a group call with an Apple engineer and reset my phone, network settings, and had Verizon disable and re-enable the wifi calling feature on my account and no success getting it to work... Is anyone else having this issue? My parents wifi calling works on their new iPhone 12 Pro but they have T-Mobile. I'm wondering if wifi calling is only not working on the iPhone 12's on the Verizon network. I don't want to exchange the phone if the new one is going to have the same issue..

DoubleU1,
Losing connection is never fun. We want to make sure you get the best possible service at all times. How often does this issue happen? How long are you losing service for?

Yes! I am having the exact same problem with me and my partner's new iPhone 12s as well. I am currently on hold trying to get it sorted! I went through the same ring of engineers and reseting everything from the WiFi to the Network Settings. We live in a place with no service so the WiFi calling is important. I'm glad that I found out it's not just our iPhone 12s but also hope this problem can be sorted out soon. Our previous iPhone XS and iPhone 8 worked great with WiFi calling.
A side not of annoyance, whenever I go to turn on WiFi calling for my phone (which is the managers account phone number not the owner [my partner's] it gives me a message that I need to contact Verizon to activate WiFi calling, it presents me with two options, cancel or go to website when I press go to website on the pop up message it brings me to a Verizon webpage that says that the Page is Unavailable. This problem only occurred after I troubleshot the original problem, with the WiFi calling, with a representative. Before the troubleshooting my WiFi calling would turn on but would not be able to connect to calls. I would just get Call Failed as soon as I tried to dial a number.

Being able to use Wi-Fi Calling is imperative, deecowles. We're here to help. If you're getting an error message & it's directing you to My Verizon it would need to be enabled as a feature. I've sent you a Private Note; this way we can get it added on our end & look further into the other issues you're having with Wi-Fi Calling.

This is infuriating to me.
Wife’s iPhone connects to WIFI calling with no issues, my previous 8 never had this issue.
But this 12 Mini I recently bought new will not connect to WIFI calling. I’ve already received a replacement phone, it also will not connect to WIFI calling.
I paid a lot of money for a basically useless phone. My area of town gets poor reception. I work from home, this is my only phone, and calls drop constantly when I’m speaking to clients.
What a dang joke, I wish Verizon would just give me back my 8 and refund my money.
I’m stuck for now, but I will switching carriers ASAP, and if AT&T will pay my fees, I’ll be swapping immediately. I’ve been with Verizon as long as I can remember, but paying this much money for a phone that is useless, and the replacement was also useless is my breaking point.
The Verizon people were nice when I called, but getting a replacement was very time consuming as it take a Tier 2 or some such person and getting one of them wasn’t easy.
If you’re reading this before upgrading DO NOT UPGRADE to a 12!
If one more service rep ask me if I’ve reset my phone or connections, I’m gonna lose it.
I’ve spent many hours on this issue, of course I have. Clearly you have a problem and sold customers who have been loyal to you for years a bad product! I don’t want to hear the same garbage about resetting it, I’d much rather see you step up to the plate and resolve the problem, or not charge me to leave your service!

I have the exact same issue - I'm thinking of switching from Verizon as it seems like it's a carrier issue.
I'll have FULL WIFI and can browse the web on my iPhone. The Wifi calling is enabled. Then I go to make a call and get "Call Failed".
What causes this???

Exact same issue here in North Carolina - today between 11am and 2pm WiFi calling on my iPhone 12 Pro just... stopped. WiFi is fine. Spoke with some excellent and persistent customer service reps who had to eventually escalate my issue with a promise that it should be resolved in a couple of days and I'll receive a text when it is. I am not sure what to think of that. 😉 However, the reps didn't blame my router or me, called back when they said they would etc - good job there! 😄
BUT - I think it's interesting that 3 of us at least have posted today after no reports since August. Come on Verizon, spill the beans... what did ya roll out today? 😄
PS - most telling error message: When I'm connected to WiFi but in Airplane mode and I try to make a call, I get a "No Network Connection - Connect to a Wi-Fi network or disable airplane mode to place a call." Again, I'm connected to Wi-Fi just fine and have the FCC App numbers to prove it (thanks to the Verizon tech who rocked!)
I'm happy to speak with any CS rep that reads this and provide more details in an attempt to get this resolved. I too am in a rural area with poor cell service (we're just in a hole here - service is fine a quarter mile in any direction) - and in a house with a metal roof. Sooooo yeah, I NEED my phone to work on WiFi calling. HELP!

I am having the exact same issue here tonight in Massachusetts. Wifi is strong and working on all devices. My Wifi calling will not work on my iphone 12 pro. We have little to no cell coverage here so we are totally reliant on wifi calling. Even when i put the phone in airplane mode in get a message 'no network connection - connect to a WiFi network or disable airplane mode to place a call'. I am connected to a WiFi network!

WIFI calling not working past two days on both our cellphones and seems to be needing an updated emergency location. When I've tried to update, I get a screen that service is currently unavailable. I've already spent a lot of time trying to sort things out with VZ rep, but she had no idea what was wrong; appears that it might be system-wide. Without wifi cell service here it's kind of hopeless trying to communicate with VZ tech support, though.

have same issue with 12pro. 5g towers in the area that are supposed to deliver, have delivered a downgrade in service from a traditional 4g phone like iphone se, it feels like.
from post here I found that forcing wifi with airplane mode may be a solution. Appears that iphone12 will prefer their 5g tower network or something and can't detect my call is garbage and dropping a lot of audio. iPhone SE works fine in my condo.
