iPhone 4 not making/receiving calls and texts

Hello everyone!!

I've had my iPhone 4 for nearly 2 years without complaints. I've started to be on the phone constantly during the past few weeks and everything has been working fine until yesterday when my phone would just NOT send/receive texts at around 7pm (Pacific time) and then when I tried making a call at around 11pm, the phone would just not make the call. I tried calling someone with an iPhone too and still nothing. Then eventually it did make the call but it only lasted a few seconds before the phone disconnected the call again.

It was incredibly frustrating that the phone just didn't make any calls or sent any texts. I had full bars and was connected to my home wifi. I've never had connectivity problems in my house. When I realized that this problem was going on, I turned off and back on the phone, I pressed the on/off and home buttons to reset it, put it on airplane mode and back to normal to no avail. Nothing worked!!!

Anyone know what the heck that was about?? Any idea how I can fix that problem? I've really never had that problem before so I don't know what to do. I also can't afford to get a new phone right now, so, please, let me know if there's a way to fix this. Thank you!!

Hi there KT87!

Yikes, based on your description of things I truly hope this has not been a constant occurance and this was the first and only time this has happened and will happen. So, I'm extremely sorry for this hiccup. At the same time though, I'd like to commend you for all of the troubleshooting steps you took. Power cycling your device is always key. After that, toggling your airplane mode option is another great option. Then, what I always like to do is see if my Wi-Fi works at all or iMessages go through (if Wi-Fi or data works then we'd want to look at coverage). If not, then we'd want to look at your device. Is this still occurring? I want to make sure you don't face this again. Here to help!
