iPhone 5 dies suddenly and will not restart or hard reset

My iPhone 5 died suddenly.  It will not hard reset. iTunes does not recognize it.  When plugged into wall charger or laptop the screen flashed the apple for about 3 seconds then off for 3 to 4 seconds.  Anything else to do before turning it in?

Yikes! We want to make sure that your device is reliable as it should be Ycrash66! It appears that you have tried a few steps which are very helpful. Is there any physical or liquid damage? When flashes on and back off, does it eventually stay on? Try to hold the power and menu button simultaneously, does it stay on?
