I'm starting this thread to lead out on the Order status...
What is yours?
Here is what i was able to do:
Ordered iPhone X 256GB Silver
Logged into Verizon at 12:55am MDT (6 minutes before the phone was avialable to purchase).
I traded in my iPhone 7+ 256GB Jet Black.
I completed my order (oddly, it let me) in 5 minutes. My order was complete at 1:00am MDT.
I have a confirmed order for November 3rd. (no real ship date info yet).

Most places including Verizon usually do a pre-authorization which checks to see if your credit card is any good. The charge will only become official when it ships. Since the phone doesn't "officially" go on sale until 11/3 they usually time the shipment so that it will be delivered on 11/3. That's what happens if you purchased directly from Apple. I suspect Verizon will do the same thing.
They did this authorization when I placed the order though? The charges showed up on my account for $0 soon after I placed the order
Verizon will most likely ship the phone Monday or Tuesday if you are showing the charge to your card. Your local FedEx will have it by Thu the latest, but they hold it until Friday.
The tracking info will most likely be updated 24 hours after.
My card got charged yesterday so I’m expecting an early ship date. Hopefully, tomorrow or Tuesday.
I was able to get into the Verizon iPhone X pre-order page 5 minutes early and get my November 3 date. I have had the best experience ordering from Verizon lately. Really been happy with the whole process.

So, we’re moving. FedEx picked up our order one hour ago, shipping next day delivery from PA but Fedex was instructed not deliver before 11/03. From my previous experience with Samsung S8 preorder, FedEx decided to ignore the instruction and delivered two days earlier, even with the sticker on the box clearly asked not to, so we’ll see
My status hasn't changed yet. Just says we're getting your order ready. The charge is pending on my credit card account and will be final once it ships. I chatted with a customer service rep a few minutes ago and he said there doesn't appear to be any issues and I'm still good for 11/3.
Mine has shipped I have a tracking number, and says on its way but fed ex won’t deliver until Friday! I’m so excited!!!
Mine has shipped too. The delivery is set for friday due to holding. Hope it’s delivered earlier.
It won’t be. Apple is very strict. FedEX does delivery earlier....Apple would move carriers.
But Apple didn't send these phone, Verizon did. Apple ships to verizon warehouse where verizon ships them out to customers. I'm just nervous because the wrong shipping address was entered by default when I ordered my 2 Xs. I still have access to that address but it's an hour away from my current address. So a signed note on the door will allow them to leave the packages if no one is there?
That's what it says on the FedEx website. You need a FedEx Door Tag. Not sure where you get that. I assume you still have access to your previous address. I would call Verizon Customer Service and see if they could contact FedEx to get the delivery address change. One of the posts on here said you can do that. Or you may be able to do it yourself on the FedEx website. I know UPS allows you to divert delivery to a local UPS store after it's shipped and even specify a different delivery address. I'm not sure if FedEx allows that.
I called fedex the other day about this because I will be at work when fedex delivers, the gal I spoke with said all I need to do is put a note on the front door that tells the driver you authorize them to leave the package at the front door, and include your signature on the note. No need for a door tag or anything like that. That being said, I’m still a little skeptical about this information and I’m considering calling them back and asking them to hold the package at the facility so I can just go pick it up after work...
Holding the delivery through FedEx is easy and is what I am opting to do. No risk of some shady folks getting sticky fingers...
Just checked my order status. Shipped! Gave me a FedEx tracking number. When I check my order status on my Verizon iPhone app it says Shipped 10/29 Arriving on 10/30 which is tomorrow. But when I track it with Fedex it says "Picked up, Westchester, PA, at 6:42 am on 10/29" for delivery on 11/03. It also said it is being shipped "FedEx Standard Overnight". When I check the status on the Verizon website it just shows a ship date of 10/29 but no delivery date. It does say "Shipment speed" of "Next Day Shipping". Did not receive an email that my order status changed.
Same here. Just shipped with a delivery of October 30. But, Apple instructed Fed-Ex to keep them until Friday.

Ditto - got tracking # in past hour, FedEx picked-up in Memphis, hold for future delivery on 11/3. Fingers crossed FedEx decides to deliver early.
Checked FedEx website. It says "Indirect signature required" whatever that is. I'm off Friday anyway.
Indirect sig just means anyone at the address can sign or you can leave a FedEx form or door tag on your door pre-signing for the package.
Inderect means they need a signature....and it does not have to be yours. If it said direct signature....only you could sign for it.
Ordered 2 X’s at 1:54 am Central time Friday morning , card charged today for both activation fees , and shipping info received today as well . It is a very good day . Friday can’t get here soon enough l.
