For a couple of months now, I cannot get text messages from my iPhone to go through to Android phones. It also will not reply to automated texts, like to confirm my haircut appointment. Has anyone else experienced this??

Hello, Tom12869. Help is here. So sorry to hear of this issue. We know how important it is to get all of your text messages. I am sure you have checked the settings in your phone, but we do want to ensure we are on the same page. Please try this and keep us posted. Go to Settings > Messages, then turn on iMessage. To select which of your phone numbers and email addresses you want to use with iMessage, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, then choose from the available options below “You can receive iMessages to and reply from.

I don't know why the CS rep put up instructions for how to text between iPhones with iMessage as the problem was an iPhone not being able to text Android phones... Anyway, maybe some settings got messed up with a software update. Have you checked the settings and made sure SMS texts are enabled? There are a number of YouTube videos out which explain how to troubleshoot this issue further.

Thanks for the help. I think I got an automated answer from them. Just like when I tried to use the virtual assistant, and it used keywords to answer with pre-populated replies. It is almost impossible to get help from Verizon.

Verizon has steadily degraded their service. I left Sprint for Verizon because they had better service. Sprint went out of business. I guess I’ll have e to try another company!

Hello, noslenarual. Help is here. Has there been any recent changes to the account or line in question? What happens when you attempt to send a text to an Android device? Which text application are you using?

You aren’t addressing my problem. Just like the virtual assistant, it appears that you are using keywords to send an automated message/reply. My iPhone works fine with other iPhones, but IT WILL NOT SEND TEXT MESSAGES TO ANDROID PHONES.

Hello, Tom12869. Thank you so much for responding. Let's gather more info. How long has this been going on? Did you ever had the ability to text other Android devices? Any recent changes to the account or device?

Hey I'm having a similar issue where my friend is not receiving my messages and she has a I phone. She can't send me messages and I have a galaxys24. I just got this phone but I'm able to text other I phone users.

Oh, wow! Dealing with text issues can be frustrating, especially if you are not to send/receive text message. We want to help you in the best way possible.
When did the issue start? What recent changes have you made? Who else is experiencing this problem? Does this happen with every number or certain lines? Aside from the text, any other issues?

Having the same issue, what did you do to fix it?

Did you check your settings and make sure the SMS option is turned on?
A few other things I found elsewhere on the internet:
-If the Android user previously had an iPhone, their number is still registered under iMessages as an iPhone. They need to deregister their number from iMessages, otherwise all texts going to them will be in iMessage format which an Android phone cannot recognize. See this link: https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage/
-Clear your texting app's cache
-Try adding a "1" in front of the area code and phone number. If the person you are texting is outside of the US, use the full international dialing format including country code as if you were going to call them.
-Network reset
-Make sure all your software is up to date

You need to call Verizon and have the tech fix it. It is annoying and took 30 minutes, but that was the only solution for me.

I am having the same issue. I have made sure SMS/MMS is enabled when iMessage is not available. It's been going on for several months.

Staying connected is always important. Can you tell us what happens when you try to text Android phones? Is this happening with specific numbers or all Android numbers?
