I have had my iPhone 4 for a little over a year. For the past couple months I've been having a lot of issues with my home button. It doesn't work, pretty much, at all anymore. I have to hit it like 5 or 6 times (not exaggerating). It's getting very frustrating. Are there any quick fixes for this issue? I'm desperate. My upgrade isn't until January and I'm not sure I can deal with this issue for that much longer!
You can go to the apple store or to a cell phone kiosk and see if you can get the front screen replaced its all built together, using the phone without a case that covers the home button allows dirt and oil to get under it or possibly the rocker that holds the switch is broken. It costs about 100$ or if you or someone you know is tech savvy you can get repair kits on eBay for about 75$

Lets take a look at this! Does the device have any physical or liquid damage? Its not a bad idea to have the phone checked out at your nearest Apple store. If the phone is under an extended warranty, we may be able to exchange it. Keep me posted!

My home started not working all the time about a month ago, but it was rare. Now it is constant. I dont have an upgrade til Feb. But you can be sure it will not be a Verizion upgrade. I took it to the store. No damage, just happening, will probably have to replace my phone---thats the help I got. I was an Alltel customer so I have been a very satisfied customer for a very long time. This one little problem is killing me. Worse, no one cares. "just get a new phone" , there was a time that I could have done that. But during the past four years, my husband lost his job, then had a stroke and is now disabled. Money is just not the same without 2 people working. It makes me angry that such an important part of the phone just quit working. Unbelieveable.

The warranty with Apple doesn't allow us to allow offers past the expiration. Have you checked to see if you have extended or full coverage warranty on your line. You may also want to try the Apple store as they can make exceptions for their own products. We should be offering you more assistance than "buy a new phone" but with the home key not working, there's not a way for us to fix. Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.

strange thing......the new update.... the day before the release of the new phone fixed not only my button but the button that wasnt working on my granddaughters phone. I cant wait til feb. I have never felt so used. I was supposed to believe that it may have been caused by "alittle water damage". Ive never heard that one before. Plus the "indicator" light was ok. I am very disappointed. But thank you for your non helpful reply.
