I did buy the ringtones from app store via itunes. I did see them on my PC also. They were all compatible and were the correct format for ringtone.
However, once I turned the phone off and turned it back on, the new sounds I had set all went away and the defaults kicked in again.
If I look in contacts I can see what I had assigned to that person as a ringtone, however the ringtone itself is not on my phone.
My friend noticed that happened to her and she didn’t even buy any new ringtones. She used the ones on the phone itself, and
After a few hours, they were back to what they were originally without her doing anything.
I don’t think this should be that hard where we have to jump through hoops to make this work. We paid a lot for these phones and it

Try the above. Even though it is for iPhone 6 it still should work for down grade iphones.
It is a bug from the Apple OS update. Not Verizon.
Makes no difference how much money you paid.
Verizon sells you a connection to the cellular and data network. Nothing more.
