"waiting for activation" after restore

I restored my phone with iTunes after experiencing a weird issue with Facebook and iHeartRadio only showing a partial, shrunken screen and being inoperable. Now my phone won't connect to any towers or to wifi and it has a message on the lock screen saying "waiting for activation"... I need this fixed immediately. I can't afford to buy a new phone outside of my upgrade window or to be without a phone while waiting for a replacement. Help!!!
