why am I getting a message for my voicemail saying it is unavailable

All of a sudden I cannot get my voice mail. It is telling me it is unavailable and to call voicemail??

It’s important to me that you’re able to easily access your voice mail messages on your device.  Let’s see what’s going on.

So that I can further assist, please tell me exactly what steps you normally take to access your voice mail on your wireless device.  When did this problem begin?  Are you having problems accessing and using any other applications on your device that require a data connection?  Please let me know so that I can further assist.
