My elderly mother has a hard time understanding a smart phone. She would like a basic phone to use for calls and texting only. She needs a QWERTY keyboard as she has a hard time texting with the other. Suggestions?

There isn't enough of a market out there for the type of phone you describe. Some smartphones have simplified UI option that might be work for you if you absolutely need a qwerty style keyboard function with a phone.
