Cannot send/receive text messages.

I have an LG EnV, no data plan or anything like that that people have been having issues with, but I still can't send or receive text messages.
I also don't have anyone else who's having this problem.

Did you recently port over your number from another carrier? Have you dialed *228, option 1 to reprogram the phone to the Verizon Wireless network? If this hasn't worked call customer service and verify there isn't a texting block on your line and have them reset the feature on their end.
