Help reduce SPAM calls?

Greetings all... I recently upgraded my wife to an iPhone 3G data plan, she's piggy-backing my (primary) plan.  That was about 1.5 weeks ago.

Now I am getting HAMMERED with these random long distance spam calls from all over the place.  I seem to be averaging 2-3 calls in the morning and 2-3 more in the afternoon.  Is there anything I can do to stop this?  My recent calls looks like this from 5/19 - 5/22:

741-398-4300

654-176-1406

277-264-1435

550-342-1427

945-981-7700

346-360-3532

348-345-7369

676-607-3782

433-512-8800

I google searched these and they are all just SPAM, bogus... whatever you want to call them.

Is there a way Verizon can block all incoming calls form reaching my phone that are not on my contact list?

Thanks in advance!!

yeah I am already aware that I can block certain numbers.  But that won't work in my case because the spam-bot appears to be generating random phone numbers faster than I can add or predict what they will be.  EVERY time I get a spam call, its from a completely new + different bogus phone #.  I want to do the opposite... I want to block all incoming call from reaching my phone EXCEPT those phone numbers on my contact list ("safe list" if you will).

Is there any way to do that?

Some phones have the option to restrict incoming calls to "Contacts only" - go to your security settings on the phone to see if that is an option.

If the call is from a number you don't recognize, you can just hit the End Call button that will effectively hang up on the caller without answering the call.

Besides checking your settings for a contacts-only option, register the mobile number at donotcall.gov. I've not received a single unsolicited call since.

I have called customer service several times asking for help blocking incoming "dead calls". I am receiving 5-8 calls a day whether the middle of the night or first thing in the morning. There is never anyone on the line if I do decide to answer the phone.

I can only block 5 phone numbers but the numbers change on every call.

Verizon suggested I change my phone number. I have had the same number for over 15 years and use it for my business so changing it isn't an option.

I need help establishing what spammer is auto dialing with highjacked called id numbers.

Some of the current numbers are :

714-622-2180

859-224-0190

206-267-9114

302-261-6005

905-668-3387

602-509-0744

843-821-3602

206-267-9114

410-557-9414

209-828-9303

763-545-0373
