How do I stop the mobile email 'Communications Error' message?

I've been using the Verizon mobile email app on my Samsung Convoy for about four years with no problems. A few days ago, I started receiving a "Communications error. Please try again later" message. Are there any solutions out there? Thanks!

Thanks, but that's so frustrating to hear the app was discontinued, as the suggested solution is so much more inconvenient

Oh no, the suggested solution does NOT work for WindowsLive (Hotmail, msn). It renders an "HTTP/1.1 502 Bad Gateway" message
