My parents and I have a family plan I believe and our upgrades were due last month but we had bought a home phone system last year and we don't want it anymore and I want to get my upgrade but my father said that if I get my phone upgraded we will be stuck with the home phone system for another 2 years. So I have to wait another year to upgrade my phone. Can I only upgrade my phone without having us stuck with the home phone?

Getting a new phone is really exciting and I don't want you and your family to have to wait. When you get an upgraded device it only affects that one line of service. Upgrades don't put the entire account into a contractual commitment.
