In-coming call message

I just got an LG Revere basic phone. I have the $10 (smallest) data package on my plan.

When anyone calls me, THEY hear a woman's recorded message telling them to enjoy "music" while they are waiting for me to answer the call.

How can I get rid of this? It is annoying to my callers.

If you have ringback tones, then they will hear that.  You can call customer service and see if they can turn off the announcement, but I don't know if it can be turned off.

Verizon used to have an option via their site to turn this announcement off.  I think that option should be once again offered to Verizon customers.
