When I receive a notice from Verizon that I am going over my minutes, I go to their website and I change from 450 minutes to 700 minutes and then I change back to 450 minutes when my new billing cycle starts so I don't have a big bill. Well, I did this 7/2014 and I received a big bill anyway! I called and the guy I spoke to said I was PUT on 900 minutes by Verizon! I told him I selected 700 and he said he didn't see 700 minutes and HE WAS PUZZLED! I went on line while talking to him and the 700 minutes option was gone! He said he couldn't see my bill yet and gave me a credit on my bill but it was not nearly enough. I called again and Jessica IGNORED me when I told her my bill was too high and that Verizon put me on 900 minutes so I asked for a supervisor. I was on hold for so long that I had to hang up. When I called back a few hours later, I spoke to another woman and she told me that I am not on a family plan so I can't pick 700 minutes, I already know this and she said that I wasn't on 700 minutes since some time in 2011 when I was on a family plan. I told her over and over gain that I HAVE BEEN ON 700 MINUTES SINCE 2011 AND RECENTLY AND THE LAST TIME I WAS ON THEIR WEBSITE TO CHANGE MY PLAN IN 7/2014, I PICKED THE 700 MINUTES. She just kept lying to me. Time to get rid of my Verizon service. Maybe because I didn't renew my contract they did this to me. This is a law suit!

I thought 700 minutes was a family plan. That is what we have as we had 3 phones on the plan and now only 2. If the second phone drops off the plan then I assume my husband the main account holder will get dropped down to a single line plan and won't be 700 minutes any more. We are out of contact too. Would be curious to know when you dropped out of the family plan why they would have kept you at 700 minutes since you would have be a single line. Mary

I am so sorry to hear about the large bill. I know unexpected charges are never fun. We do have a 700 minutes more everything plan with unlimited messaging with our new More Everything plans. This plan is available for basic phones only though. Do you recall if this was the details of the plan you previously selected?

Yes, I selected 700 minutes a few times right up until this July when I received notices that I was going over my minutes and then all the sudden I get a big bill and I'm told that I was put on 900 minutes!  The first guy I spoke to was very surprised that the 700 minute option was gone all of the sudden so I wet on line and sure enough, all of the sudden the 700 minute plan was gone.  I was there and I have used it since I went off my family plan in 2011.

This same guy and Jessica (my second call) both told me they would put me on $35.99 a month and that my state discount could be used towards the $5.00 part of it.  I told them I wasn't told this in the past.  Then the third person ( a woman, I don't remember her name) told me the $35.99 was the best for me and that no, I can't use my state employee discount and I told her that is fine.  I am being told different things by different people, NOT good.

I have had  a single plan at 450 minutes and I believe basic now and always should have had since 2011 and I have been using it up until this problem.

Thank you but now I am working a part time job to pay this large bill that I did not create since I changed to the 700 on line so I wouldn't have a large bill and Verizon put me on the 900 minute plan and didn't tell me.  I am single and struggling and things like this cause a very big problem for me.  I had to rehome one of my two dogs to cut expenses and I might have to sell my car and buy a piece of junk but since I have a disability, I have to have a car.  I cut as many corners financially as I can.

I'm still not getting anywhere with the issue of the large bill due to Verizon putting me on 900 minutes and not telling me.  I DID NOT PICK 900 MINUTES, I PICKED 700 MINUTES IN JULY and then I was lied about it.  I was on 450 minutes and I chose 700 minutes on line because I received a notice I was going over my minutes.  I ended up with a large bill anyway since Verizon put me on 900 minutes.  I e-mailed someone at Verizon already and she did not get back to me, maybe you will.

After you picked 700 minutes what did it reflect in your account when you looked online 700 or 900? Mary

I saw 700 minutes when I changed my plan on line., I NEVER pick 900 minutes! I did NOT see 900 minutes until AFTER I received a big bill and I was on the phone with a Verizon rep. to see why my bill went up so much and that was when I was told by the Verizon rep. that Verizon had put me on 900 minutes.
