Kyocera DuraXV Extreme Flip Phone No Caller ID Readout

I have the Kyocera DuraXV Extreme Flip phone and was told prior to buy it from Verizon that it had the voice narrator function for saying or announcing the callers ID on incoming calls. Specificially names from the contact list in the phone. How do I turn this on. Not the readout function that only has off/on and reads everything on the phones screen. My old verizon phone would announce the incoming callers name and then ring. I was told this Kyocera DuraXV extreme had that function.

Congrats on getting the Kyocera DuraXV Extreme phone! We certainly want to ensure that it and its many features, work correctly for you at all times. We noted your reference to your device's voice narrator feature. To be sure that we're on the right path to assist you here, are you referring to its Voice Activated Dialing feature? If so, we have info to share with you  by visiting our website at http://spr.ly/6605yNjnB.

Please let us know if this helps. -Robert C.

Ensuring that you're completely satisfied with the device you've chosen, we took another look at the Kyocera DurraXV Extreme flip phone. The older model Kyocera had the "Caller ID Readout" option under the "Call Sounds" menu. The new LTE version does include this option I apologize.

With he new KyocersXV Extreme phone, if the incoming call is from a number stored in your contacts, the entry’s name is displayed. The caller’s phone number may also be displayed, if available. Please keep in mind that if your Kyocera DuraXV Extreme phone is turned off, all calls will automatically go to voicemail. I hope this helps. Thanks for your time and patience. -Robert C.

Who ever told you it had that feature was wrong.  You could have downloaded the user manual to check before buying.

Yes I should have downloaded the manual and read through all of it but I choose to trust the "Verizon Experts" to know what the heck they are doing. I was wrong to trust.

Same for any company.  I don't trust anyone giving me correct info these days so search it out myself to make sure.  They hire so many these days at companies that don't stay long and have no clue about things in the company.  There are a lot of different cell phones and a rep can't know about every one but the rep could have googled for the manual to get it correct.  Took me all of a minute to find it.  If you are still in the return period return it and get one with features you need.

You misunderstan the question, as usual when support don't know. The voice narrator for incoming calls on the Kyocera DuraXV Extreme is missing, not the readout Do you even know the difference?

AnthonyBertram,

I definitely apologize for the confusion over this process and that you were given conflicting information. It seems the two features, because they were similar, may have been confused. The only readout option for this is the one that reads the whole page. Kyocera support actually commented on this here on this forum last fall which can be reviewed at:

We apologize for the confusion. Unfortunately, the option you are looking for isn't available for this device. May we ask when you purchased this device? How was this setting mainly used? ~Christian

"May we ask when you purchased this device?" 2 weeks "How was this setting mainly used? " It would announce the callers name from the contact list and ring, if not in the contacts on the phone it would just ring and read unavailable.
