I previously had a Kyocera duraXV LTE and recently upgraded to the duraXV Extreme. on the duraXV LTE, it was possible to give a contact their own ring tone and notification tone (messages for example). With the duraXV Extreme, while I can see where to assign a contact their own ring tone, I do not see where, or how, I can assign a notification tone to a specific contact. Is there any way to do this?
Yes, the manual does say that that can be done, but the only option that can be changed on the phone for each contact is the default phone ringtone, and vibration pattern, for each contact. There is not an option to change the messaging ring tone for each contact like there was on the duraXV LTE.
Also, I just heard back from Kyocera about that, and they said that you cannot do that with the duraXV Extreme.

We want you to be able to customize your ring tones, KJ-79. What options do you see if you select "Phone ringtone" as per this link (https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-231023/)?
Each phone is different and ring tone options may differ from one phone model to another.
I am not OP, but I am interested in the same issue. Following your instructions to bring up the "Phone ringtone" options produces a list of available ring tones (on my phone, this starts with "Amazing Grace" and ends with "No Ring"). Selecting a ring tone here sets the default ring tone for incoming voice calls. This does not seem relevant to the original question, which was how to customize message notification sounds for individual contacts.
You missed what they posted. Must be a typo in the manual, hopefully someone alerted them.
