I have the 1st gen Cosmos phone. I have a question concerning phone and SD card memory. I know that pictures, sounds and ringtones can be moved to the SD card to open-up some phone memory. What about contacts? I attempted to move contacts to the SD card, but they were no longer accessible via the "contact" button. What else can I do to free-up phone memory? After 5 or 5 inbox messages, I get a "inbox full" message and can not accept any more incoming texts.
Can I move and then access contacts to the SD card or is there something else I can do to get more phone memory available?
No one knows the answer to this? I find that hard to believe. How about a little help?
On our LG phone a VX8370, under
Menu -> Settings & Tools -> Memory -> Phone Memory,
a person can examine each folder in the phone's internal memory to see how much memory each folder is using.
So maybe doing that on your Cosmos might reveal what folder is hogging the most memory.
Second comment. It sounds like your Cosmos has the same feature as one of our phones whereby a person can copy or move to the memory card a copy of up to all the contacts in the phonebook. We have 114 contacts, and our total file size for 114 contacts is 20 KB; with the exception of one contact (2 KB), each contact is 1 KB. Assuming that the contacts on your Cosmos use about the same amount of memory, then maybe the contacts on your Cosmos are using very little memory.
Does your Cosmos have any preloaded applications that you can remove ?
I have the LG Cosmos (first version not touch or 2) and my memory is constantly full on the phone card. I have 18.3 M and only 0.7 mb available. I have NO pictures, ringtone etc save. And only 7 contacts saved. I am unable to move any of the preloaded pictures off the phone memory. I have a card but the phone does not pull from it. If I move contacts to card then the phone will only show the number not who it is.
I was at one time able to get about 30 text, now it is only 8 and I get the delete unwanted messages notice that goes off every minute even when I am in the process of deleting. How can I fix this? The Tools/ settings memory shows only the preloaded crap. Which I can't move.
