When I visited www.verizonwireless.com , in the middle of the front page the first ad [out of the several ads] is in my part of the country an ad for the Kin Twom:
"3-DAY WEBSALE
Get a FREE KIN TWOm."
When I click on the ad, I get taken directly to the link for the Kin Twom that has all the specs, reviews, pricing, etc. And on that link, the price is "FREE [with] Free Overnight Shipping!" For whatever the reason, I haven't yet spotted anywhere the expiration date for this offer. But I bet the telesales department would be happy to explain to any caller more information about this offer. The direct # I have for Verizon's telesales department is 1-800-482-0890
For at least a few months Verizon has now and then been having [in my part of the country] online 3-day sales for this or that individual phone.
I figured it out- I think the rotating sale offers utilize Adobe Flash...
Just this week I just started using FireFox as my primary browser at work and somehow my company has only allowed Flash to operate within IE- not sure how you make that distinction over a network...
Anyway, I see it now- but like you, I can't find an end date anywhere...methinks it's a strategy to get a little boost in sales of the phone...I'm happy to oblige...
I contacted Verizon directly and got told that they are totally out of stock but to check back weekly because they get deliveries every week. I hope so because this is the closest thing to a Smart phone I can get without actually getting a data package.
This is simply my opinion so don't let it deter you from checking back to see if it comes back in...but, chances are that this phone is done and gone...
If you've kept up with it's history, you'll find that they initially flopped as expensive semi-sorta-but-not-really-smartphones and were pulled...only to be released with less capabilities and no data package requirement.
Most people think that Verizon and MS just re-released the phone as a feature phone to get rid of their stockpile of otherwise useless Kin TwoM's.
For someone looking for a low end smartphone in the Kin TwoM, this was not the phone to buy.
For someone looking for a high end feature phone in the Kin TwoM that looked and felt nice- this was a perfect match.
My guess is that they just offered these for free for the 3 day sale to expedite the process of getting rid of their remaining inventory.
Now they can both walk away from what they considered to be a monumental bust- I'm not saying this is the viewpoint of a customer looking for a high end feature phone...just that from a company perspective, this phone did not sell the way they hoped it would at all. In their eyes, this was a complete failure.
I would have to agree that they did the sale to get rid of them, but my problem is the lack of clear communication about it.
If it was discontinued I would expect some sort of communication about it. Whether it be a release from Microsoft to the public or something internal to Verizon so that their sales people can answer a simple question. It took me 3 phone calls to get a sales rep to tell me anything more than "it is not in stock" and even that call was not definitive. I am convinced they are telling people that the Kin TWO has been discontinued (which happened last year). The status on the Kin TWOm is unclear.
Also their website says "Temporarily Unavailable".
I am holding out hope, but I don't usually have that kind of luck.
I don't see these being offered as new much longer, I suspect they are no longer being manufactured, so the stock of new ones is going to dry up, if it has not already.
None of the reps really know much about the KIN phones as they exist now, very few (if any) stores can transfer the contacts.
The stores near where I live could not transfer, even when using the machine that they normally use for transferring.
Keyboard and calendar are good, calculator is pretty good. Music player is pretty good, camera is pretty good, but adding to / deleting from is awkward at best. Its mediocre as a "phone" - too many buttons/menus/screens to hit just to make a call, even if you have someone as a contact. Wifi is poor, should not even be a factor in your decision to get this. Email is serviceable on it, however, just not internet browser.
I did a DIY fix for the slickness with some velcro material I had at home, so did not have to buy a case.

Not sure that I would agree at all - it appeared to be a great high end phone, but its just too clumsy as a phone!!
Thank you for answering I hope you they get more to but I have no luck either so I'm just going to go ahead and wait too I really liked the phones feature and price at $50 was just right for my budget.
