Network Extender - blocking incoming calls.

Seems all of a sudden my Verizon cell phone does not ring or show missed calls. This only happens while connected to my Network Extender. All I get are voice mail messges. All 4 lights on my extender are blue. Outgoing calls are good and have 3/4 bars. Now have to call *86 to check for calls. I am using a Verizon router and ENV3 phone. Once I am out of the house and hooked into a tower, I can get calls and my phone rings. We have had this extender for 2 months with no problems. One thing that happened the same time this problem started was that my neighbor who has a home 400' away also got a Network Extender, we also use the same cable provider (Charter). My phone worked outside under the extender for about 150' and due to many trees could not work further or to this neighbors house. Is anyone aware or have similiar problems with extender usage ? Any solutions. Verizon opened a ticket, but still have no incoming calls.

Seems the problem with our Network Extender has been resolved as of Aug 2, 2010. Must have been fixed by a Verizon technician. Nothing I did was able to resolve the problem, including re-booting router, modem, Extender and even getting a replacement Extender.

There was an outage with the Network Extender reported late on the 27th of July. The outage has since been resolved. The ticket was closed for the outage on July 28th, late that night. If you are still experiecing trouble not receiving calls please let us know.

Morgan, I have seen many others speak of the same problem on other boards since the 'fix'.

I did notify you, see ticket 3793498. I was told this may take days to fix. We have company now and their Verizon phones will not get incoming calls here.

We are experiencing the same issue.  We are in western WA.  If there is anything we can do to troubleshoot on our end, please let me know.  If there is anyone I can call to verify that the issue is not on our end, that would be great.  Also, is there anywhere I can get up-to-date official information on this outage?

Thx!

I live in Dublin, CA and I have the same issue with our network extender. My cellphone and my wife's phone do not work when we are in the range of network extender. The extender shows all 4 light in solid blue color and our phones show strong signal reception, but we don't receive incoming call and placing outgoing call doesn't go through. The phone shows "calling..." and then after few seconds it just gives up.

Using skype I talked to a technical support but he couldn't fix the problem. He said the outrage has been fixed but it appears not.

Now we have turned off the extender so that at least our phones work although we have to be near window to use them because the signal is weak in our house.

I hope Verizon will resolve this issue as soon as possible. My concern is my 8-month pregnant wife not able to use her phone in emergency. We don't have a landline phone, and cellphone is the only way to call.

Morgan, can you confirm that there is still an issue with the system?  I'm not sure where to begin troubleshooting.  If there is a tech support number I could/should call, I would be more than happy to do so.

Thanks for your assistance,

I'm in Bellevue, WA and we are having the same problem. We had the same issue in the beginning of July. In that instance I spent many hours on hold with tech support but the problem just eventually magically fixed itself and no one was able to tell me what happened. It was extremely frustrating. Just as with last time I have rebooted the device, I have turned it off and left it off for 2 days. Each time I reboot it I give it enough time for all the lights to come on and turn blue. When we dial #48 it tells us we are under network extender coverage but we can't recieve phone calls or text. As soon as we turn off the network extender we all get a flood of calls. It isn't a defective device because we have 2 network extenders that have the same exact problems. We bought a second one not realizing they would conflict with each other so it is only used to troubleshoot whether it is a problem with the extender or the extender network.

Ours was magically fixed a few minutes ago while I was on hold for technical support. I've been trying since Friday to get it to work. We tried swapping the extender, powering it off and giving it a few hours. Rebooting the router. Nothing worked. It just magically started working. This is the same thing that happened last time. I spent a week dealing with tech support getting all kinds of different stories and it just magically started working one day then too. They were never able to tell me if they did anything on their end.
