Octane signal strength problems

Recently transfered my son's Octane to my Verizon number.  I'm getting no signal in places that gave me no problems with my previous phone.  Now I'm getting zero bars for 3G and 1X in way too many places, extending miles sometimes.

My son reported no signal problems.  After the number transfer, Verizon directed me to perform a factory reset.  Then *228 Option 1, then Option 2.

Any help would be appreciated.  This is so frustrating.

thanks

longpatch,

I understand how that would be frustrating, considering the phone worked previously. Did you already perform the reset and the *228? Is your old phone powered off? It can interfere with the signal, if it is not. Let us know!

Katie,

Thanks for the help. I did do *228 Option 2 a few times. I really do not need the 3G capability. If that could be disabled, would that help my reception for voice?
