Phone keeps roaming in places it didn't before.

I went on a week long trip with no service and put my phone on airplane mode so that I could use the clock.

When I got back to my home, where I never had roaming, I have had roaming since I have been back, so like 5 days.
I can't dial *228 to update roaming. And have tried turning it off and removing battery.

Does anyone know how to fix this???

I can receive and send txt and calls just fine. Just in constant roam mode.
