Problem Backing Up Contacts, Getting Multiple Contacts

I have an LG Cosmos  (Smart Phone, but I am only using Text and Picture Messaging along with standard phone usage) and every time backup assistant automatically backs up my contact list, I get the same contact listed 3 or 4 times. I have gone into my phone and on-line and deleted the extra contacts that somehow got duplicated, but it still continues.  How do I resolve this problem?

Oh no, let's fix this MediaHawk!  Is the entire contact list duplicating or specific contacts?  If it's specific contacts try deleting the contacts, syncing and adding the contacts back.  If unsuccessful please backup the device and complete a factory reset http://bit.ly/Rc5moy .  Please let me know if you need any additional assistance.  Thank you!
