If you just got it should be a 1yr makers warranty so I would go to verizon and see what they will do. My son had a phone die at 8 months and they replaced it since it was defective. Mary
I'm sure your daughter texts a lot so I'm sure her phone is also turning off a lot. That's definitely not a good thing. As the brightside hasn't been on the market for a year yet you should still be under the manufacture warranty.
I would first check for any signs of physical damage that may have caused this. If there are any cracks or breaks on the slider or around inidcating the phone may have been damaged you would then want to go the route of insurance of you have it.
