Samsung Intensity III problems

Hello, and good day.

I have a Samsung Intensity III, which I got in June of last year. Over the last two weeks or so, it's developed some baffling problems that seem to worsen every day, and I can't identify the cause or have any idea how to fix them.

Several buttons on the front of the phone ( the Clear button, the center button that opens the menu, the buttons to the left and right of the direction pad that look like white dashes, and the '5' key ) have simply stopped working, and nothing I do will make them respond. What's more is that much of the time when I try to slide the phone open, the screen will fade to white and everything will become completely non-responsive, requiring me to turn my phone off and turn it back on, sometimes through means of removing the battery and placing it back in.

There are some minor scuffs on my phone, but nothing major in any way, and overall it's still in pretty good outward condition. All things considered, I haven't been very rough on it and there's no kind of water damage anywhere. The battery looks fine, nothing out of the ordinary that I can see, and the same goes for everything underneath it.

I can't think of anything that's happened recently that would cause all of this, and I am eager to hear any thoughts any of you may have.

It’s important to me that you have a good working, reliable wireless device to use on our network!  I am terribly sorry that you’re experiencing these problems, and I would love to assist in resolving them with you.

First, thanks for letting us know all of the troubleshooting steps you’ve tried so far.  I would say that the last recommended step would be master resetting the device http://vz.to/1L2fv3A.  Ensure your data is backed up prior to resetting the device.  Please keep me posted with your results.
