Upgrade options from feature phone to smartphone

I'm going to be upgrading from the EnV Touch to a droid based smartphone. Just looking for some opinions here. I'm really hoping the Droid R2D2 will still be available for atleast another month as I beleive from what I have read it has one of the better battery life. I text the majority of the time with web and app browsing coming in second. Talk time  isn't that much for me in maybe an average of 150-200 mins a month.  So between the Droid R2D2, the Droid X, and the Droid 2 Global. Is the R2D2 my best option? If that becomes unavailable within the next month what would my next option be?

Need/want physical keyboard: Droid 2 R2D2 is cheaper than D2G with no real downside other than lacking GSM roaming (given VzW's roaming rates, is this really a downside?) and a slightly slower processor (you'll never notice the difference outside of benchmarking apps).

Prefer typing on touchscreen: Droid X, Droid Incredible, or wait for one of the 4g Droids coming soon. Don't waste your money on a physical keyboard phone if you don't want a physical keyboard

Video gamer: wait for the Sony Ericcson Xperia Play, it was announced as coming to VzW sometime in March (we'll see if THAT happens) and instead of a keyboard it has a playstation controller. Should be wicked, makes me jealous because I can't have it >_>
