Vibrate mode vocal alert

I have a new LG Revere cell phone. When I set the phone to vibrate mode, I hear some sort of vocal alert -- a voice saying something. The local Verizon tech can't understand what the voice is saying. Neither can I. How do I turn off that voice on activating the vibrate mode?

Similar question, and I think the answer would be the same -

I thought so, too. When I go to the Voice Commands menu/Goto/Call Vibrate, the only choices are "on" and "off." I know I can use the lower-volume control on the left side of the phone to set it to vibrate, but pushing the # button is a lot more convenient.

The Sound Settings menu gives only the same options. There is nothing that I can find in the manual that deals with this situation. (I'm still not certain exactly how, using Voice Commands, I managed to silence the vocal alert on receiving a text!)
