After verifying via phone call with Verizon Customer service that one of our phones would no longer function after the end of the year, and that Verizon offers a $200 rebate to upgrade, we did an upgrade. Nothing in the contract indicated that there was a rebate. Customer service said that is normal, rebate will show as a monthly discount equal to the device payment or $8.33, whichever is less. I called a second time to verify - same story. My next bill has the device payment but no rebate indicated. Does this sound correct or did both reps lie to me?
If anything, it was likely a bill credit over 24 months equivalent to the $200 off the phone. Those promotions usually take one to two billing cycles to be reflected on the bill.
