Why does it take so long to hear my voicemail?

The new voice mail is very time consuming.

When you call it says the call was received on Saturday, June 3, from ###-###-#### and is ?? seconds long.

I do not want to leave my voice on the message. I just want service from Verizon.

In the setup options for voicemail (press 4, I believe when you call in) turn off the envelope information.
