Will verizon charge me $1.99 if I'm on that plan and make a call on the weekend of after 9:01 pm?

I recently switched to Verizon  prepaid and I'm on the $1.99 plan. It says free nights and weekends but I  was told that they will still charge me the $1.99 fee for using it even  if I make a call during these times. I'm trying to find out if this is  true. Thanks in advance!

$1.99 plan is per day of use. If you use the phone for the 1st time today at 9:01pm local time, you will be charged $1.99 for the day. There not any per minute charges
