I have a contract samsung intensity 2 and I was wondering if I could change it to a prepaid plan.

Most definately, granite that it is removed off the contract by replacing the device or payin the ETF then it can be activated to the Prepay Accounts.

I believe you meant to say "granted" - typically mispronounced or misunderstood to be "granite".
