trouble saving pictures to sd card

I have lg octane phone and it will not read a sd card or save to the sd card. does anyone have any advise on how to get this to work? I have the memory set to card memory but when i try to save a phone i get a error save message?

Try reformatting the card maybe?  If it's a new or old card maybe it got corrupt, sometimes they just give out if they are older.  Mary
