AMEX Debit Card Not Showing Eligible for 30/Month Discount

I'm trying to get my bill down and the 30/month offer is a great deal that's hard to pass up, so I opened an amex checking account to get a debit card that I could use for that payment, but Verizon's system is saying that it is not eligible for the discount. Anyone else run into a similar issue? Verizon Customer Service, can we get this fixed please?

I am referring to the -30/month auto pay discount when paying with a checking account, debit card, or Verizon Visa Card. It seems the Verizon system is not recognizing my debit card as one. How do we make it recognize a debit card?
