Schedule Payment In Advance, Got Confirmation # VERIZON still says I'm Past Due & Get a late fee?

On 2 Nov 12 I went online, as I do every month, and scheduled my verizon bill payment for 22 Nov 12, the due date.  I got a confirmation number at the end.  I double checked a few days later, as I always do, and the bill pay history showed the bill scheduled for payment on the 22Nov12 just as I set it up.  Today, Monday, 26 Nov 12 I checked my balance with my bank, and the money was not deducted by Verizon.  I went online and the bill is shown "PAST DUE PAY NOW".  Whooooa.  NOT correct.  I call Verizon, and customer service says pay again and get the late charge fee and my record will show I payed late.  In over 40 years of bill paying, I've NEVER paid any bill late, ever.  When I was younger, and poorer, I went without eating a few meals to never be late on an honest debt.  I expect VERIZON to fix this.  I want them to deduct my money, using my confirmation number, and clear my record to show the bill was paid on time.  I refuse to "pay my bill" a second time, and get a record I paid late.  Not happening.  Verizon has a confirmation number, I gave it to them again, they can use it to debit my bank.  But I will not accept a LATE FEE or a record of LATE PAYMENT because the VERIZON system was faulty.  Their fault, their problem, not mine.

I paid my bill on May 29th, 2024 for my Internet and a  streaming device I really didn't need. I got my confirmation number and it even says it on my payment history about my lastest payment. After a few days go by it says my account is overdue and I need to make a payment for 127.15 that paid for on May 29th. They are telling me that it didn't go through. If it didn't go through why do I have a confirmation number that says it did go through. And it is recorded in my payment history too.  So why do I need to pay again for. I'm on a fixed income and I make sure all my bills are paid off right when my money comes in. I don't know how they claim that it didn't go through but my account records are saying that it was paid off and gave me a confirmation number. So now I'm going to have my service cut off because they claim I didn't pay my bill. So how do I get this resolved. It's not my fault, I have proof that I paid my bill. I see nothing saying that my payment didn't go through. Now I have to deal with late charges and I have always paid my bill on time. If I can't I'll have a third party app ( Deferit) paid for it and I make 4 easy  payments paying it off. But I refuse to pay again.  Help!
