Ok Buckle in this a long story.

So last black friday 2022 I purchased an IPhone 13 pro online form verizon with a promo they had been doing. It was rushed job i was trying to catch a flight and I panic bought the phone.

week after come to find Verzion did and even better promo so I Naturally I call up verizon to see if I could qualify for the other newer deal. Customer Rep says my phone hadn't gone though Credit verification get so cancelling would be EASY, and all i had to do was purchase a new phone on-line. That advise turned out to be the WORST thing I could have ever done.

If you ever consider buying a phone from Verizon online DO NOT, I repeat DON'T EVER cancel your phone before you received it!!!

As it turns out I spent the  rest of the week figuring what happened to my phone number since i was getting ported in and when i could get that account closed so i could start a new order with the newer promo.

After two weeks I get confirmation the account was closed and I could start fresh as a new Verizon customer I order my new phone, and properly port my number. Much smoother process. The service was fine the new account has no issues and i thought i was in the clear.

Months I get a letter saying that first account I had opened had rack up charges and that the phone was never return to verizon (Apparently Ups had lost the first phone in transit)

I get on the phone for months calling verzion back and forth on this account for a phone I had never even received to get cleared. Worst part is since I'm a current verzion customer with the same phone number as the first account, half the time the rep couldn't even find the charges. I was like a phantom account

Finally May 12 2023 I was able to get Customer service rep to agree to clear the charges and close the account and I thought that was that finally.

Month later I get a letter in the mail that sequim debt collection, and my credit report lost 100 points!

I call verzion back to trace back what happened?? I was told it was taken cared off.  Then I was told in the remarks for May 12 2023 " $$$ amount was requested to be credited to XXXXXX account" but  was told the request was denied due to inactive account can't be credited.  And that they sent it off to sequim debt collection May 16th 2023.

I had no was check on that credit since the account had the same phone number as my current account, plus it was never activated.

The worst part is verzion never notified me that request to credit the account was denied before the just sent it off.

And now that is with sequim debt collection. I can't get it off my credit report even if paid them.

Worst part is Verizon won't discuss it either at point.

If anyone know if there's somewhere to dispute it now let me know. thanks.

PS Always check accounts even when a rep says they've taken care of something!
