Being charged for devices I've never owned/registered.

I have been using Verizon service for my mobile phone at least over 10 years.

Over the years, unknown 3 devices have been added on my account ( 1 apple iPad and 2 Samsung tablets) without my consent  and Verizon has been charging me for devices I never owned.

Each device has a different telephone number assigned and none of them has been ever used and when I called those numbers for a test, there is an automatic voice mail saying ' the number you dialed is not in service or is disconnected.

On 05/18/23, I had a chat with Verizon service agent and got the case# for the service

The agent cancelled those 3 devices and told me Verizon will send me a  follow up email by 05/25/23 but I never received any email from Verizon.

On 05/31/23, I finally had a talk with a customer service agent on the phone.
She said those 3 devices will be disconnected on 06/04/23

I need Verizon to refund me all the charges for those 3 devices I never owned.

We are sorry to read that you had this issue with those devices on the account jo0708. We understand the need for clarity and transparency in communication. Because of this, a monthly bill is sent out to all our customers, so that they're fully aware of the services that they are being billed for. While I understand you mentioned that you were not aware of these lines on your account, and I truly sympathize, there is also a consumer responsibility to review monthly statements. This way, if there's a discrepancy, it can be communicated to us as early as possible. Due to the time elapsed, a credit will not be available in this situation. That being said, we value your honest feedback, and will be sure to lift it to the proper channels. If there is anything else we can do for you in the meantime, we are here to help.

Freddy,

I'm communicating now.

Verizon has a responsibility to explain how those devices have been added to my account without my consent and has been charging for the services Verizon never provided!

Please explain how those devices were added to my plan and who did it???

Looks like a lot of people have had the same experience including my co worker.

I need Verizon to do following;

1. Remove those 3 devices from my plan (scheduled for disconnect next month)

2. Refund of  the charges for those 3 devices

3. Move my existing mobile phone service from personal to business

4. Add my employees mobile phone devices  to my business mobile line.

I received a phone call from a Verizon technician (called himself James) from the Fraud Department in February  2024. He tells me that someone in Boston ordered 2 iPhone 15 max on my account. That brought attention to the Fraud Department.  He said they were able to intercept the phones and now they would be arriving to my house. They emailed me 2 shipping labels and said to just put shipping labels on and send back through USPS. (How many of you would know that Verizon DOES NOT use USPS?) I sent the 2 iPhone 15 to Muami, FL. They showed at Miami Post Office but are no where to be found. Ive called Verizon many many many times. Verizon is charging me for 2 iphones I did not want, did not order nor do I have. Every time I call I get transferred from customer service, billing, Fraud Department  and it just keeps going round and round. Each time I call I talk to at least 7-9 Verizon employees and have to start from the beginning explaining the whole thing over. I really wonder bout the intelligent level of their employees.  Because I tell them bout the 2 iphones they have turned off mine and my husband's phones. Ive told them I should have 3 lines on my account and even gave them the number for each line. Since Feb. 2024 I've paid Verizon $9,322.56. I paid over $3,000 in 1 month and $1,400 in another month. Ive been a loyal customer for over 23 years. I DID NOT ORDER THE PHONES, I DID NOT WANT THE PHONES AND I DO NOT HAVE THE PHONES AND I WANT MY MONEY BACK. I have no problem paying what I owe but I do not owe for thes phones that y'all have charged me over $9,000 for. When I call now all I hear is there has been a ticket created. That don't mean much to me cuz my phone still gets turned when I do what a Verizon technician tells me to do and then there's an extra $80 tacked on the enormous bill when it shouldn't be over $245.00 a month.

My email is [email address removed per the Verizon Terms of Service]

Will you be different and actually help me or ignore me like everyone else?

I certainly understand where you are coming from, jo0708. It sounds like this is a case our Fraud Department would need to investigate. This is the avenue any customer would take if they discovered that there were lines of service added that they were not aware of. If found to be fraudulently added, the fraud team would remove the charges from your bill. I literally had the same thing happen to me. Verizon admitted that their was fraud in my account caused by them and  they even sent me a text and email about the money they owed me $1300 total and now they asked for me to agree on a $350 settlement I said no then $550 then $885 so I told them I’m reporting them and hiring an attorney since they have finally admitted they are at fault and are just avoiding me my entire amount of  money back- it’s illegal!!! Imagine if I didn’t pay them $1300 I wouldn’t have my phone or the service!!

I came to this forum because my father who is in his '70s is having the same issue. It turns out who's being charged a monthly payment for 18 months so far, for a phone he has never purchased and when we call the separate phone number it says it has been disconnected. We've contacted Verizon three times. Three times they have told us they would investigate it and then we will get no contact or a case number.  This has been going on for months. I requested that they stop payment on future payments but they refused. I am definitely going to put in a complaint with the California attorney general for consumer protection because I think this might be elder abuse.

I also think this kind of reeks of the same modus operandi as Wells Fargo, where employees were opening up accounts without their customer's knowledge?
