I recently received one of their collection letters stating i owe 75 dollars. Now i know all my bills are paid and i owe nothing to verizon except for my current bill which will be paid via auto pay. Im wondering if verizon could send me a letter stating i owe them no money..? does anyone have any idea what to do ? Thank you.

I also received a collections notice from the CBE group saying that I owe them $35.24 from October, 2011 when my account has been paid in full every month.  My husband and I called the verizon support line and they could not find any debts that I have on my account, past or present, or even any listing of the account number that is on the collections statement.   I can't tell if Verizon sent false debts to this collections agency or if this agency is a scam and I need to know who to report to the BBB, because I DO NOT want this collection crap on my credit report for money that I do not owe.  Please fix this!!!

Hello janna

I think if you Google the name CGE group, you'll find your answer.  But to be on the safe side, you could request a printed statement from Verizon that your account is in good standing. If you have an online pay service, you should be able to print out the page that shows your account and its balance.

I recieved a call today from CBE Group claiming that I owe 170$ on an account at an address I never had service at, and haven't lived in in over 6 months. The accoutn was opened in December, and I moved from there in September. I can say for sure that I will not pay this. I have been up to date on every boll with Verizon since the inception of my using them as my cable, phone, and internet provider. The apartment in question can't even get verizon service to it in the first place! Fios doens't reach there! And why would I get service someplace I am no longer living!?! I'm a little more than disappointed in how this was handled, since Verizon had my contact info as well as CBE amd never contacted me about this before. Why am I only hearing abotu it now? And what kind fo security is being used on my privacy act information? Please advise as soon as possible, and rest assured I will be contacting Verizon on Monday to get this resolved!

I also received a letter from CBE for a paid bill on an old account number. This was a bill that was originally sent to another bottom feeder, EOS CCA, supposedly affiliated with Verizon. They did not respond under the FCRA to my challenge but apparently passed me off to CBE. I've already filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. I'm looking for financial compensation from Verizon and both of these companies.

Hello dpw419

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.

Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.

Under “My Support Cases” you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions.

To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe".

Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

I have received a letter in the mail from CBE Group as well in the amount of $589.62! My account is in good standing and I believe there has to be some kind of mistake. I don't want this going on my credit report and trying to get through to someone via phone at Verizon is nearly impossible. Can a moderator please help me get this resolved?
