Hello,
My phone broke down before I synced some new contacts, and all the data I hadn't backed up was lost, including some text messages I sent to those new contacts. I recall the exact time I sent and received those messages.
In order to retrieve those contacts would be I looked at the text message logs in my Verizon account. I see the dates and times of the messages I am looking for, and if they were inbound or outbound. But cannot see the phone numbers.
I called customer support several times and they don't have any more information. The only way for me to get the message logs, they said, is to pay a lawyer to request those logs. Which I clearly don't want to do.
The strangest of all is that I can see all the numbers in my CALL logs, but not in the TEXT logs. I can hardly believe that this is a privacy law issue. And from looking online (as well as some obviously outdated help pages on the Verizon help) it seems like it was possible until not long ago to get the full logs for 90 days (now it's just 45).
Can somebody explain why this is so? And is it just a Verizon thing?
Thanks.
