I called Verizon on August 28 to close my account due to poor landline service in Long Beach Township, NJ.  I received confirmation that my account was closed and that I would be getting a final bill.  However, my account does not appear to be closed because I am still getting billed for new charges for September and my account is showing past due.  I waited an hour on the phone with Customer Service last week but they never picked up and I had to drop off.  Online chat is down and Verizon does not accept emails for service issues.  In short, it is a real hassle contacting Verizon.  Does anyone have any ideas?

Making you wait for a ridiculous amount of time is their standard tactic.

For billing issues, you will need to contact Verizon Customer Support at 1-800-VERIZON during normal business hours.
