Credit owed

I am beyond frustrated with Verizon Customer Service.

*****Did you all know you can easily receive a $10 Loyalty Discount for just being a customer? Call and ask for it!

If you are a First Responder and/or in Eduction you also can receive a $10 Service Discount (more if you more phone lines). But you cannot receive both discounts of Loyalty AND Service; ONLY one discount is offered per customer.

Unfortunately, I switched over from AT&T to Verizon due to lack of service in a rural area I moved to for a teaching job back in 2017 - I explained all of this to the representative at the time of establishing service. I was never offered the credit as a teacher - I was told today that I have to ask. As a teacher, I know that things are difficult to learn if people do not know what it is they are seeking to know, hence why we teachers are to provide objectives prior every lesson.

Hummm, so, from fall of 2017 to summer of 2022 - FIVE YEARS - I did not receive my $10 monthly credit as a teacher. Due to some debate I was having back in August of  2022, about my bill increasing, is how I learned of the Loyalty Discount offer. Whew. It takes arguing and a lot of questioning to just get that $10, which adds up to $120 a year!

I also purchased a new iPhone, Apple Watch, and air pods, starting around February 2021 at a Verizon store, again, telling the store clerk I am a teacher - NO discount offer as it states in their fine print. When on the phone with customer service representatives this morning, they researched and said, “There were no promotional offers at the time of my purchases.” Ha! I don’t believe it nor did they offer me any credit in lieu of today!

When I became an EMT in Nov 2022, I was given information from my licensing organization to seek a discount with my cell phone service company. So, I called in, went through ID.me verification, and received a $10 discount which REPLACED MY LOYALTY DISCOUNT. So dumb.

*****What is the point to even offer community service discounts if anyone with a Verizon account can receive $10 off a month for just being a loyal customer?

I’m not feeling very loyal anymore. I am very disappointed in Verizon, especially after spending an hour and a half on the phone today to not even be offered any credit for my service or past purchases. AND, when I finally figured out that ANYONE can receive $10 monthly credit, I was hung up on, with not even the completion of the credit validation of $10 I was offered. Terrible experience!

In saying, Verizon owes me five years of monthly $10 discounts = $600 (really just six months of crediting my bill) AND discount credits for my past purchases (at least one more credited bill) from their Verizon store if they were to be an honest and forthright company.

Let’s see how they handle this…
