Customer service phone and chat

I have been a Verizon customer for years.  Today I’ve had one of the worst experiences ever with your phone and chat.  I got disconnected, and it makes it impossible to talk to a real person without paying my past due.  I had to pretend to be a new customer just to be able to talk to someone.  I felt ignored and disrespected.  Even if we can find a solution I should be able to talk to someone.  I know I’m just one person but to be honest I’m really considering to switch.
