Im trying to upgrade my phone but a credit score from december 2022 is being used. I underatand a certain credit score muct be met and other conditions. However, i dont understand why such an old score is being used. The dude on chat told me it should be updated every month. Dude i called for customer service said verizon only updates once every six months. This is another issue i have. Customer service chat, phone call customer service, and store reps never have information that matches up. I feel like im always being lied to and all any of em can really do is apologize for my bad experience. No body is ever held accountable. Just me for my bill.

Good afternoon, thank you for letting us know there is an issue with your upgrade. As we don't run credit checks on upgrades I have some concerns with how things have been explained. So we can review your account together I'll be sending a Private Note to protect your information.

Yes verizon does ceck credit. In fact two times. The first time is a soft credit inquiry. While my score is not used, verizon still uses informatiin from a credit report. The letter says so. Again, this information is six months old. Next, verizon used this information to create a credit score unique to verizon. The letter says so. This score is used to determine my payment elidibility. So, yeah, Verizon checks credit with a reporting agency to determine my Verizon score. That score is then checked.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Customer eligibility score is based on a review of the overall account history in combination with external credit data periodically provided by the credit bureau.
